I hate realizing other points later on then having to repost...Oh Well!

The fact thee wheel didst runneth for 54 days is proof in itself the bearing was a good one. Also there would not be much of a friction loss given the size of the bearing relative to the size of the wheel. Furthermore 24 rpm which is roughly equivalent to 1 rotation every 3 secs. is not very fast. At the outer edge of the wheel we are are talking about 12 feet a sec. On a 3/4 inch bearing we're talking under 1 inch a sec.
