Hey Oystein,
Sorry for the long delay. I enjoyed the site you recommended. I think some of the perspectives on energy were very interesting. The author really started to lose me, though, with all the talk about Satan. Was is that about? I would like to link to the site from this one, but am a little reluctant for people to think that I endorse the Satan stuff.
Hope your experiments are going well. I am working on my own pet design these days. Never enough time to keep the experiments going, though!
Best, hope you have time to report to this board again soon,
-Scott
: I will keep reporting on this board....
: Meanwhile read this web site :
: nov55.com/ener.html
: Something in the direction I have measured...
: read the levers and fields closely !!!
: Bessler : "Weights came to be placed together, arranged one against another" , (I am not 100% shure what Bessler ment by that). My testing indicates that he ment Weights on levers/ arms in a wheel. Eight arms is 4 pair...
: Best regards

: : Oystein,
: : No problem, I can see the diagram as you typed it in the
: : textbox at the bottom of the page.
: : I know you probably don't want to give too much away, but
: : I don't really understand what the diagram is about.
: : ??
: : I'm glad you like the site. Let me know if you have any
: : suggestions for it.
: : I agree that we can rely pretty heavily on the eyewitnes
: : accounts in judging the feasibility of a scheme. That
: : and Maschinen Tractate provide a good focus for our efforts.
: : I am glad to hear you are working on the mathematical aspects
: : of this endeavor. The mathematical argument by Biddel Airy
: : goes something like this:
: : PM is not possible with the known forces because the expression
: : Xdx + Ydy + Zdz is integrable "per se."
: : In other words, the hypothesis of Conservation of Energy holds
: : for any 3-dimensional field of force - i.e. for space as we
: : know it. Since the expression above is a complete differential
: : for all the known forces, PM is incompatible with those forces.
: : In the above reasoning we presume that the magnitude of the
: : force acting on a body at any instant depends on the position
: : of the body at that instant. If however the magnitude of the
: : force should depend on the position of the body at a prior
: : instant, then the theorem would no longer be true.
: : Each time a body returned to the same position, its velocity
: : could be either higher or lower than the time before. If it
: : were higher, it would increase until the force of friction
: : held it constant.
: : Airy attributes these ideas to Robert Willis. Willis was
: : studying the human voice organ and did experiments with air
: : passing over inclined plates. Remember that Bessler
: : supposedly came upon the secret after working as a pipe organ
: : apprentice.
: : All for now,
