Darren has it right. Most of the NDAs I signed were written in a less formal language but the basics were there. You don’t disclose anything you are told in confidence, ever, unless it comes into the public domain by any means. If its documentary the author retains all copyright. Publication includes all forms of media. You can’t use the information in any way, either for your self or anyone else's benefit. If you did blab, as Darren has pointed out, you could then face legal action, although how effective that might be if carried out from another country, is debatable.
My personal feeling is that they are not worth much except as a tool to inspire trust in the person who wishes to share information. You need trust first and if you have trust why should you need an NDA?
