This sounds a lot like the the Finsrud device:

You say it goes for several hours. How much energy does it take to get it started? What causes it to eventually stop?

Thanks,
Scott

: Bessler's Wheel could have operated on a hybrid gravity, pendulum
: magnetic principle. I am currently working on a prototype of such a device, and am achieving encouraging results. While not quite a perpetual motion machine, I can say that it is a Near Perpetual Motion (NPM) machine in that the device operates for several hours without external power. The torque is quite high as well.
