Yes, and the ratio of Bessler's modern counterpart(s) to modern Borlach counterparts, if there are any, will always overwhelmingly favor the Borlachs. Just human nature. Besides, what would the "Besslers" of the world do without the "Borlachs".
(I am suddenly reminded of a 70's T.V. show called "Land of the lost" where those hapless castaways were plagued by the "sleestaks"!)
At any rate, what's a nose without a grindstone, eh?
Thanks,
MR
: Found it Mike! Yes I think that he means Borlach who wrote a number of pamphlets lampooning Bessler. One of his drawings of how he thought Bessler worked his wheel was included, ironically, in Bessler's Das Triumphans.

: : Hi John,
: : Most of the stuff you asked me I can't answer because that seperate sentence I posted was pulled directly from that sites page. I haven't a clue what fly-leaves are, is or was. The page is under Chronology-at the very bottom, second menu.

: : : Hi Mike,
: : : I've visited the web site you mention but I can't find anything such a you refer to. Where on the site can I find this reference.
: : : You say Barlach, do you mean Borlach? If so I have copies of all of his works translated and am using them in my next book.
: : : I'm not sure what you mean by fly-leaves. Do you mean flyers, pamphlets that kind of thing? Unless you mean the fly-leaf of the pamphlet.
: : : Lastly the German words you use mean, according to my dictionary, "sophisticated knitting". I'm not sure where this fits in but it sounds like Borlach's contemptuous opinion of Bessler. Remember that Borlach worked with Gartner and Wagner to undermine Bessler's credibility.

: : : : Hi John,
: : : : Do you know anything about this?
: : : : SoJohann Georg Barlach writes fly-leaves entitled Sophistische Strickzüge in order to discredit Bessler's wheel.
: : : : That was taken from a web page on PMM's posted by Grim.
