Hi Jonathon,

Are you using the Microsoft Windows Paint program for your drawings? If so, then choose to 'save as' in JPEG file format. JPEG file format is much smaller and more sender/receiver friendly than the large file sizes encountered with .bmp image formats. Good luck!

: Thanks Scott, I'll start putting some thought into a the most 'byte-effiecient' way to draw a diagram with the most possible info on how the device is supposed to work. Would I be able to post pictures one after another, if it takes more than one? (Probably will.) What is the space allocation constraints on your website? If posting multiple pictures would be too much of a strain for the server or something, I could just announce (when I'm ready) that I've made some pictures, and people can just email me with their email addresses included, so I can email the pictures directly to them.

: : Hi Jonathan,
: : Sure, I can convert a bitmap to a gif. The only problem is that bitmaps tend to have huge file sizes, and email attachments aren't very reliable over about 5 Mb. If it's 5 Mb or less, send it on over...
: : Thanks,
: : Scott

: : : First, my update is that I think I've had a breakthrough that'll simplify gear construction, but it requires a little theoretical experimenting before I know if it's worthwhile. The question: How big of a picture can I post? I see it says .gif or .jpg, is there no way for me to use .bmp? I have a digital camera, but I don't want to use it if I don't have to, it would be easier for me to post a picture I drew in paint than to draw on paper and take a picture of it. I heard you can convert .bmp to .jpg, but I don't know how, do you? Oh yeah, Michael: Can you describe the device for me, so that if mine is the same I don't waste my time? Thanks all.
