Hi Georg
Thought I'd let you know, I saw a simple, probably poor example of your "resonance" concept.
Bought some cheapo ring magnets from Radio Shack to hang notes on the 'fridge. I took two of them,
and put one around each pivot point on this test wheel (small one). Then hung one each underneath so one ring mag
hung on the circumference of the ones encircling the pivot points. They roll around the stationary mags 360 degrees.
Set the test wheel in motion, they flew off first time. A little gentler on second try. The wheel slowed gradually,
until it hit a speed where the swinging mags broke into almost a "cadence", like soldiers marching in step across a
bridge (a well-known no-no!). At that point the wheel stopped slowing, and actually wanted to maintain speed.
Poor bearings loaded it so the "cadence" couldn't maintain.
Might mean something, might not. Just thought I'd let you know.
