Bessler described screwing bolts which regulated the motion in and out of the axle to allow his one-way wheel (Draschwitz wheel)to work and even says that witnesses and friends enjoyed operating the bolts. The bolts were used to slow down and stop and secure the wheel. I think cord was used in the first wheel and maybe as an extra security feature to tie the wheels down when not being used. Apart from that I can't think of anything else relating to the operation of the one-way wheels Grim.

Hi John
: Was reading the "Eyewitness Accounts" section here, and noted that Wolff described JB "pushing down" on an iron spring. According to the paragraph's title, this was associated with the bi-directional wheel demo.
: Was there ever any record anywhere of JB doing anything to the one-directional wheel other than untying it?
: Thanks!
