Some interesting comments on this posting by Michael. I've got a couple of points to add.

Michael, I like your idea that the poem gives clues to where the drawing were buried but unfortunately Bessler wrote and published Apologia in 1716 and did not get his house and land until much later, I think sometime around 1726. But keep working on those ideas of yours about the poem.

Grim your suggestion that "seer" is a weight from India is most interesting, but the original German goes.."Der Seher sieht..". So my question is, is the "seer" an Indian weight or is it "seher", as in the German?

Grim and Jonathon's ideas about running the writings through something like a Bible Code system is interesting. I have been recently speculating (again) on the presence of over 600 Xs spread through out Apologia. There are none in Das Triumpans, which seems odd if they are merely points of emphasis. Also he uses NB very frequently which are also said to be points of emphasis, why would he need both?

As for the poem, I have always leaned towards the idea that it describes the actions within his wheel in a metaphorical way but I may have been staring at it for too long and I can't se the real meaning any more.
